“…Off*Beat feels very much like a celebration of the natural, the endless wonder of the everyday people and things that are just right in front of us, and the epic gloriousness of the most naturally human thing of all—honest connection with other human beings.” -Melinda Beasi, Manga Bookshelf

Christopher “Tory” Blake’s awkward fixation on Colin Stephens has finally come to the fore in their relationship, with a punch to the jaw, no less! But while Colin is willing to talk some things out, he’s as cagey as ever when it comes to what matters most. And just when Tory thinks they’ve made a breakthrough, Colin disappears. Adrift and perhaps a little brokenhearted, Tory has to pull himself together to follow the few remaining clues to find Colin again…

At long last, this final volume from Chromatic Press features bonus material not available in the online serialization in Sparkler Monthly Magazine (sparklermonthly.com). The finale 10 years in the making!

Off*Beat Volume 3 eBook Jen Lee Quick

The first two volumes of this series had a lot of buildup to lead to this ultimately unsatisfying conclusion. It's obvious the author just wanted to hurry up and end the series, considering how abruptly everything comes to a screeching halt before we're hit with a "the end". The mysterious Gaia project that held so much weight is briefly explained and then never used for any narrative purpose aside from getting Tory and Colin to work together in the same lab after a timeskip. The scientist whom Colin was living with gets similar treatment in that he is also underdeveloped and shoved to the side, as are many of the other characters.
I debated if I wanted to buy this or not, but I wanted to know what happened. Seeing that there was only one volume left to tie everything up I was already skeptical, and yeah, I was right. I would say it's worth borrowing, but if you liked the first two, not so much a buy.

Off*Beat Volume 3 eBook Jen Lee Quick Reviews

This book was just FANTASTIC along with the rest of the series!' It's so good that I had to beat myself to contain the awesome vibe I've received while reading it. And patiently waiting until there's a new volume. I simply LOVE Jen's work and wish there were more because I know for a fact that it couldn't end that way, it looked like it had just begun.(Can't share any details about the ending or the entire content of this book, I'm not going to spoil or ruin the moment) Overall, she's done a great job and hope she's going to continue her nice work.''
I loved these two in the the first and second book and waited what felt like forever for the conclusion. Then I read it. Didn't meet my expectations. At all. [Spoiler] They declare their feelings to one another and then Colin goes off to continue the Gaia project, with no further contact. Then they meet years later - glance at each other - and we're thrown a possible 'to be continued'?! And - hypothetically speaking, how long will we have to wait for that? It totally missed the mark on lingering, longing love that lasts despite distance.

While I don't hate it, I certainly don't love it, either.
